Rotary Club to install playground at Mathews Park

The local Rotary Club has been given the go-ahead to swing into action in developing Mathews Park.

City council agreed at its Tuesday meeting to allow the local service organization to purchase and install playground equipment in the park.

Once installed, the equipment would be owned and maintained by the city.

Mathews Park was closed because of its close proximity to a number of young families living in the area and the lack of a school or playground in the immediate vicinity.
